1 c Liquid honey
1/2 c Butter, softened
2 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla
2 c All-purpose flour
1 ts Baking powder
1 ts Ground cardamom
1/2 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
2/3 c Sour cream
StrEUSEL TOPPING:
1/2 c Sliced almonds
1/3 c Packed brown sugar
1/3 c All-purpose flour
2 tb Butter
ICING:
1/2 ts Cinnamon
2/3 c Icing sugar
2 ts Milk
[For Valentine's Day use an 8-cup heart-shaped pan and bake for 1 hour and fifteen minutes.] In bowl, beat honey with butter until smooth; beat in eggs, 1 at a time, and vanilla. Stir together flour, baking powder, cardamom, baking soda and salt; add to honey mixture alternately with sour cream, making 3 additions of dry mixture and 2 of sour cream. spoon into greased 9-inch springform pan, smoothing top. Streusel Topping: In small bowl, stir together almonds, sugar and flour; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over batter. Bake in 350F 180C oven for about 1 hour or until tester inserted into centre comes out clean. Let cool in pan on rack for 15 minutes. Remove from pan; let cool completely. Icing: Sprinkle cinnamon over cake. Whisk icing sugar with milk; drizzle over cake. 10 servings for $6.21 CDN [Feb/95]

Ingredients:
All purpose flour ( maida)-1 cup (130g)
Baking powder -1&1/2 teaspoon
Salt-1/8 teaspoon
Sugar-3/4 cup (150g)
Egg-3 ( room temperature)
Milk-1/2 cup (120 ml)
Oil-1/2 cup (120 ml)
Cardamom powder -3/4 teaspoon
Lemon juice-1/2
Method:
1. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder.
2. Whisk egg and sugar until fluffy. For 3-4 minutes, stopping in between. You can use a blender instead of hand mixer.
3. Add cardamom powder, lemon juice, oil and milk.
4. Whisk until combined.
5. Add the sifted flour and gently fold until combined.
6. DO NOT OVER MIX THE BATTER.
7. Transfer the batter into a pan( greased with oil and lined with parchment paper).
8. Bake in a preheated ( 170C for 5 minutes) oven at 170°C for 40-45 minutes.

Honey cake Ingredients:
225 g flour
1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
175 g soft butter
100 g sugar
3 tablespoons honey
2 eggs
2 ripe bananas
100 g pitted dates
50 g walnuts
Honey cake Directions:
Combine flour, cinnamon, butter, sugar, 2 tablespoons of honey and eggs. Make mashed bananas. Chop the dates finely. Mix everything thoroughly with a mixer. Chop the walnuts. Put the dough in a greased dish and sprinkle with walnuts. Bake in the oven at 160 C (320 degrees Fahrenheit) for 1 hour. Smear the cooled cake on top with the remaining honey.

185g self raising flour
185g caster sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
150g ground/bashed pistachio nuts
150g softened unsalted butter
1/2 tsp ground cardamom
3 large free-range eggs
125g plain yoghurt
Zest of 1 lime
Juice of 2 limes
125g caster sugar
75ml water

Honey Cake Recipe
This easy, dairy-free, moist honey cake will fill your house with a wonderfully sweet and spicy scent. It’s my family’s favorite recipe!
Ingredients
525g all-purpose flour
3 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3 teaspoon baking powder
3 1/4 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves , optional
3 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom or nutmeg , optional
6 large eggs
2 1/2 cup (200g) granulated sugar
3 1/2 cup (360 ml) honey
3 1/3 cup (240ml) canola oil (or vegetable, safflower)
3 1/2 cup warm coffee or tea (mix 3 1/2 cup hot water with 3 teaspoon instant coffee or 1 tea bag)
3 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/4 cup (50g) sliced almonds, coconut flakes,pecans or walnuts, optional

Instructions
Preheat oven to 340°F/170°C. Grease your pan.
In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom/nutmeg. Set aside.
In a mixer bowl fitted with the whisk attachment, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, and honey on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, 2-3 minutes. On low speed and with the mixer running, slowly add the oil and vanilla extract and beat until combined. Turn off mixer. Beat in the flour mixture in 3 additions, alternating with the coffee/tea in 2 additions, starting and ending with the flour. Beat until smooth. Do not over mix.
Pour the batter into prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. If the top is browning too fast while baking, cover pan loosely with aluminum foil. Allow cake to cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan and set on a wire rack to cool completely.
The cake tastes better a day after it’s made. It's best served at room temperature. Cake will keep for 5 days in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
