How To make Festive Cherry Bread
-----patti - vdrj67a----- 1 1/2 c Maraschino cherries; chop
2/3 c Cherry juice
2 c Sugar
4 Eggs
1 c Flaked cococut
1 1/2 c Nuts; chopped
3 c Flour
1 tb Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
Dice cherries and reserve cherry juice. Beat sugar and eggs together. Add cherries, coconut, and nuts. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add flour mixture and cherry juice alternately to the egg mixture. Bake in 2 greased and floured 8x4x2" loaf pans at 350~ for 60-70 minutes. -----

CHERRY BREAD:
INGREDIENTS:
2½ cups all purpose flour
1¼ cups granulated sugar
1½ teaspoons baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 cup butter (cold cut into pieces)
¾ cup milk (I used 2 %)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-2 cups cherries (pitted and cut in half)

Cherry Cake - Traditional Newfoundland - Bonita's Kitchen
Welcome to Bonita's Kitchen! Today we will be making Traditional Newfoundland Cherry Cake, made with red or green cherries. Error in video I used 1½ TSP of baking powder.

Ingredients:
1½ Cups Butter or less
1½ Cups Sugar or less
3 Eggs
1 Tsp Vanilla or Almond extract
3 Cups Flour
1½ Tsp Baking Powder ( NOT 1½ TABLESPOONS )
1 Cup Carnation Milk ( room temp ) evaporated milk, or milk of choice
1 Cup Halved Glacé Cherries ( roll in 1/4 cup flour before adding to mixture )
ERROR MADE IN VIDEO, I SAID 1½TABLESPOONS OF BAKING POWDER, YOU ONLY NEED 1½ TEASPOON FULL. Please except my apologies. Bonita
Method:
- Cream together butter and sugar.
- Add eggs one at a time, mix well until light and fluffy.
- Mix in vanilla or almond extract.
- In another bowl sift or mix together flour and baking powder.
- Folding dry ingredients with creamed mixture, don't over mix, then slowly add room temp milk to your mixture.
- Fold cherries that have been rolled in flour to your mixture. Grease one 10 inch springform pan or two loaf pans, or pans of choice.
- Bake in a 350°F, Preheated oven for 45 minutes to an hour depending on your oven, before removing from your oven check the middle of your cake first with a toothpick if it comes out dry it's done if wet close oven door and leave for another five minutes or so . Don't over bake your cherry cake , this will make your cake dry.
- Remove cake from your oven let set in cake pan for 5 to 10 minutes before removing it from the pan. You may need to run a knife around the sides to remove from pan if stuck.

Christmas Cherry Cake
A simple way to make those cherries into colorful bread. Here it is..
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup butter
1 cup glazed cherries
1/2 cup raisins
1 cup sugar
Procedure:
Sift flour and baking powder, separate 1 cup to coat with the cherries and raisins.
Cream butter and sugar.
Cut cherries in halves. Then coat it with the flour
Pour the batter mixture to the flour.
Then mix with the cherries and raisins..
Mix until well combined.
Bake at 300’C for 2hours

0:21 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
0:25 Combine cornflake crumbs, butter, and sugar.
0:30 Press down firmly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle coconut, marshmallows, pecans, and cherries evenly over the crumb crust.
0:43 Pour sweetened condensed milk over all evenly.
