How To make Double Orange Scones with Orange Butter
2 Flour
3 Sugar
2 1/2 Baking powder
2 Orange peel
grated
1/3 Butter
1/2 Mandarin orange :
chopped s
1/4 Milk
1 Egg beaten slightly
1 Sugar
Orange butter: 1/2 Butter :
soften
2 Orange marmalade
Heat oven to 400. Lightly grease cookie sheet. In large bowl, combine flour, 3 T. sugar, baking powder and orange peel. With pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add orange segments, milk and eggs. With fork, stir just until mixture leaves sides of bowl and soft dough forms. Turn dough out on floured surface and knead lightly 10 times. On cookie sheet, roll or pat into 6-inch
circle. Sprinkle with 1 T. sugar. Cut into 8 wedges; separate slightly. Bake at 400 for 15-20 min. Beat butter in small bowl until light and fluffy; stir in marmalade. Serve with warm scones. (8 Scones) FROM: SHERYL JEFFRIES (PVJP03B)

INGREDIENTS:
-Scones
●2 cups Pillsbury BEST All Purpose Flour
●1/2 cup granulated sugar
●1/3 cup Hershey's baking cocoa
●2 teaspoons baking powder
●1/2 teaspoon salt
●1/3 cup cold LAND O LAKES Butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
●3/4 cup whipping cream
●1/4 cup Smucker's Sweet Orange Marmalade
●1 teaspoon McCormick Pure Vanilla Extract
●1 cup Hershey's mini chips semi-sweet chocolate
●1 tablespoon raw sugar (turbinado sugar), if desired
●2 oz Hershey's semi-sweet baking chocolate or 1/3 cup Hershey's mini chips semi-sweet chocolate
●Orange Butter
●1/2 cup LAND O LAKES Butter, softened
●1/4 cup powdered sugar
●2 tablespoons Smucker's Sweet Orange Marmalade
Perfect Orange Scones #shorts
I like a scone that is rich and slightly sweet with big punch of targeted flavor like chocolate, lemon, orange, etc. I am okay with glaze but I think the sweetness factor of glaze overpower actual flavor and taste of scones. This recipe is my tweaked of orange scone with big orange flavor and reduced sugar content.
Ingredients
6oz Greek yogurt
1 egg, room temperature
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
Orange zest from two oranges
8tbsp butter, frozen
3 Tbsp sugar
1 cup of finely chopped candid orange slices( I used store-bought candied orange slices)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat. Set aside.
2. In a bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
3. Grate butter into flour mixture with a grater. Use your fingers to work butter into flour until it resembles course meal.
4. Stir in chopped candied orange slices
5. In a small bowl whisk together yogurt, egg, and orange zest( a lot of them!!).
6. Add the wet mixture to flour mixture.
7. Use a fork to stir it until dough clumps form.
8. Place on a lightly floured surface, press into an 8 inch circle, and cut into 8 triangles.
9. Sprinkle with more sugar, if desired. ( I did not do that:)
11. Brush with heavy cream or egg wash for color, optional
10. Place prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-17 minutes.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
