Smothered Beef Tips And Gravy Recipe
2 lbs beef chuck, top sirloin or tenderloin
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoons onion powder
1/4 -1/2 tsp chili powder
1 teaspoons paprika
1 medium onion diced
3 garlic cloves chopped
4 thyme sprigs
2 tsp rosemary
2 bay leaves
2 cups beef broth
10 1/2 ounces or 1 cup French onion condensed soup
2 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 cup red wine
1/4 - 1/2 jalapeño sliced removed membrane + seeds
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Taking the cubed meat add oil, salt, ground black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika and combine.
Using a heavy duty skillet or (Dutch oven skillet) add oil to coat the pan. Allow the oil to become extremely hot before adding the beef. Brown the beef on all sides before removing and placing into a bowl and reserving.
Using the same pan add onions and sauté until translucent. Add the garlic, while continuously stirring for about one minute.
Add the beef back to the skillet, and combine. Add beef broth, French onion condensed soup, Worcestershire sauce, red wine, thyme, rosemary, jalapeños and combine.
Oven Option
Preheat the oven to 400F
Place into the oven and cook for about 1 hour, while checking periodically every 30 minutes. Only adding liquid(water, or more broth if necessary.)
Cook the meat until fork tender. If the gravy is slightly liquefied, and you prefer a thicker gravy add cornstarch and water mixture and combine. Remove thyme leave stems, and bay leaves before serving.
Stove Top Option (Use Top Sirloin or Tenderloin Tips)
Bring to a boil cover and reduce heat to simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until beef is fork tender. To thicken the gravy add starch cornstarch and water mixture and combine until it reaches your preferred consistency.

SLOW Cooker Salisbury Steak
There are many versions of this recipe on TikTok, so I combined what looked best! Many people use raw patties, but the meat stays pink even though it is cooked. That's just not for me.
Season four fully cooked frozen hamburger patties (I get mine from Sam's Club) with Montreal seasoning, onion powder, mushroom powder (Trader Joe's) salt and pepper to taste.
Mix 2 cups beef broth with 1/3 cup flour (low carb works too) and 1 tsp. gravy master. Mix well and pour over patties.
Cook on high 2 hours or low 4 hours. Stir gravy. Enjoy! :)

This vintage recipe is a must-try! The sauce has so much flavor!
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
2.5 lbs. round steaks or bottom or top round roast cut into thick steaks (2-4 pounds will work fine in this recipe)
½ cup flour
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. black pepper
4 Tbsp. cooking oil
10.5 oz. Campbell's beef consomme or beef broth
29 oz. petite diced tomatoes (two 14.5 oz. cans) do not drain
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 cup diced onion
1 green bell pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
4-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
On a large plate add the flour and salt and pepper. Mix this together with a clean hand.
Dredge each steak in this mixture on both sides, transfer to another plate. Save any excess flour mixture, you will add the slow cooker with the meat later.
Set a large skillet to medium-high heat. Add the oil when the pan is hot. Brown the steaks on both sides, no need to cook through. You may need to cook the meat in batches if you pan is too small, add more oil for the second batch.
Add the browned steaks to the slow cooker. Sprinkle over any excess flour from the plate.
Deglaze the pan that you browned the meat in with by adding the beef consomme and scraping up any brown bits. Add to the slow cooker on top of the beef.
Add the remaining ingredients, stir.
Place the lid on the slow cooker. Cook on LOW for 7 hours or HIGH for 4 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak
In this video, I make some delicious slow cooker swiss steak. The result is deliciously tender steak with a tomato sauce that’s packed with flavor.

The name for this dish refers to the swissing method that is used on the meat. Swissing means tenderizing the meat by pounding or rolling.
You will find quite a few different variations on the swiss steak sauce. Some will have a lovely gravy with mushrooms and others will be more like this recipe. I prefer a tomato sauce that’s packed with delicious vegetables.
There are plenty of extras that go great with some swiss steak. For example, mashed potato, cauliflower cheese or even just peas and carrots.
All the ingredients that I made use of for this recipe are listed right below.
Steak
1kg (2.2 lb) chuck steak
½ cup flour
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper, ground
Sauce
½ cup red wine
1 onion, diced
1 tsp. garlic
1 celery stalk, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 tsp oregano
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
400g (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
½ cup beef stock
There are plenty of changes that you can make to the sauce. For example, you can add some sliced mushrooms or even some other vegetables.
Fresh tomatoes can be used instead of the crushed tomatoes. Keep in mind that you will end up with tomato skins in your sauce unless you remove them.
If you’re looking for more slow cooker recipes that are like this dish, then be sure to check out the sausages and peppers recipe. The peppers steak is also pretty good, so I highly recommend that one too.
I hope that you like this slow cooker swiss steak recipe as much as I do. If you have some feedback, then please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below.
