1 onion cut into 4
2 stalks celery cut an inch
1 sprig of thyme
1 tsp olive oil
Rub ingredients
1 1/2 tsp lemon zest
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp stone ground prepared mustard
1/2 tsp sage
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
For the gravy
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp flour
3/4 cup chicken broth
3/4 cup juice from slow-cooked turkey
1 tsp dried parsley
salt and pepper to taste
Method
Mix all the rub ingredients in a small bowl until combined and turn into a paste.
Season the turkey
Slather 3/4 of the rub mixture on the turkey. Roll the turkey into a round roast and secure with the cooking twine. Slide the twine underneath the turkey then tie to secure. Tighten the knot but not too tight.
Slow cook the turkey
Place the celery, thyme, onion, and garlic in the crockpot. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place the turkey on top. Spread the rest of the rub mixture on the turkey breast.
Slow cook for 5 hours.
Broil the turkey
Preheat the oven to high/broil. Remove the turkey from the crockpot and place it on a baking pan. Broil the turkey in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes or until the skin crisp and golden brown. Remove from the oven and cover with aluminum foil. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Make the gravy
Strain the juice of the turkey. In a saucepan melt the butter, add the flour. While whisking, slowly add the chicken broth and the juice from the slow-cooked turkey. Add dried parsley, simmer until thickened. Salt and pepper to taste.

Betty's Crock Pot Roast Turkey Breast and Turkey Gravy
Betty demonstrates how to make her Crock Pot Roast Turkey Breast, and also how to make smooth, delicious, low-fat roast turkey gravy to go with it. Very tender turkey and super flavorful gravy!
Please subscribe:
Crock Pot Roast Turkey Breast and Turkey Gravy
3 lb. frozen turkey breast, thawed
meat tenderizer (to taste)
1/3 cup cornstarch
2 cups water
Thaw the turkey breast, if frozen. Use meat tenderizer to salt and tenderize the turkey to taste. Place the turkey breast in a crock pot and cook on low all day for a dinner meal (roughly 6 to 8 hours; larger turkey breasts may take 8 to 10 hours). When ready to serve, remove the cooked roast turkey breast to a tray or cutting board. Slice into desired serving pieces and place on a serving platter. Now, make your roast turkey gravy. From the juices that are left in the crock pot, spoon off as much fat and turkey slivers as you can, and then pour the juices into a saucepan. Mix together 1/3 cup cornstarch and 1 cup water, and add to the saucepan of juices. Stir thoroughly before putting the saucepan over heat. Now, move the saucepan to a burner on your cooktop. Turn the heat on to low, and cook the gravy, stirring constantly. If the gravy is too thick, add a little water at a time until it is smooth and of perfect consistency. In making this recipe, I added 1 extra cup of water to thin the gravy to a perfect consistency. Serve while hot!
Menu suggestion: Place sliced roast turkey breast on serving plate, along with Betty's Cornbread-Sage Dressing . Ladle your toast turkey gravy over the turkey slices slices. Serve with Betty's Blakemore Peas, cranberry sauce, a yeast roll, and a glass of iced tea or lemonade. A great dessert to go with this dinner is Betty's Angelic Frozen Coconut-Caramel Pie! Enjoy!!!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast
SLOW COOKER TURKEY BREAST
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS:
1 entire turkey breast (both sides of breast) mine was 5 pounds
1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. dried rubbed sage
1 tsp. dried thyme
1 tsp. paprika
SLOW COOKER SIZE:
6-quart or larger
INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove the turkey from packaging and make sure to remove any extra bits that are stuffed in the cavity. Pat the turkey dry with paper towel.
Add the turkey breast to the slow cooker. Pour over the melted butter, then sprinkle over the seasonings.
Cover and cook on low for 7 hours without opening the lid during the cooking time.
Let the turkey rest for about 10 minutes before carving. I started carving with a knife first, then switched to my electric knife and that helped make thinner slices. Serve and enjoy!
Note- I made gravy with the drippings from this recipe, I used a turkey gravy packet and 1 cup of the drippings. You could make homemade gravy too.

Orange Bourbon Crock Pot Turkey Breast Recipe
Looking for a simple yet succulent turkey recipe for Thanksgiving or Christmas? Our orange bourbon slow-cooker turkey breast, inspired by WhitneyBond, is a sumptuous holiday entree boasting mouthful after mouthful of sweet, spice and everything nice.
Every hot, juicy bite of this slow-cooked turkey delivers a delicious combination of warm spices, brown sugar, orange juice, bourbon and honey. You may have an appetizing assortment of mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing and salads on your holiday table, but it will be this turkey that steals the show.
Feeding a smaller crowd this year? This is the holiday turkey recipe for you! There’s no need to fuss with a large whole turkey that requires basting and babysitting all afternoon when you can feed your family amply with just the turkey breast. The best part? Once you prep the turkey breast, your slow-cooker does all the basting and cooking for you.
Bourbon, orange juice and honey infuse their distinct balance of flavors into the turkey as it cooks for hours. Not familiar with bourbon? Bourbon is the most popular type of American whiskey. In general, bourbon’s barrel-aged flavor is characterized by oak vanilla, and caramel notes, which all go impeccably well with orange and honey. In a bowl, whisk together bourbon, orange juice, orange zest and honey. Set aside.
Cook’s note: Take advantage of the turkey juices in the crockpot to make a turkey gravy to serve alongside the turkey or with mashed potatoes.
