Super-Healthy and Crunchy Granola ???? No Oil, No Sweetener, ONLY Natural Flavor❗️
This wholesome and nutritious granola recipe is a perfect choice for those looking for a healthier alternative. Instead of using butter or oil and traditional sweeteners like maple syrup or honey, we’re using our homemade applesauce as a natural binder. Calorie-wise and packed with a variety of wholesome ingredients, this light and crunchy granola recipe will become your favorite.
To begin, gather the following ingredients: rolled oats, chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, pumpkin seeds, dates, dried cranberries, and raisins. Make sure all the ingredients are of high quality and preferably organic.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (176°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, and pumpkin seeds. Add homemade applesauce 1 tablespoon at a time and use a fork (or your hands) to thoroughly incorporate it into the mixture. Add only small quantities while stirring until the oats get sticky but not wet or saggy. Here, 2 full tablespoons of applesauce were enough to bind oats with the rest of ingredients. The applesauce acts as a sticky binder, holding everything together without the need for oil or sweeteners.
Once the ingredients are well mixed, transfer the granola mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Spread it out evenly, ensuring a thin and even layer. This will allow the granola to cook evenly.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for approximately for a total time of 30 minutes. Take out the baking sheet from the oven after 15 minutes baking and stir thoroughly the granola to prevent uneven browning and ensure it doesn't burn. Bake for another 15 minutes.
Remove the granola from the oven and pour it while it is still hot on a plate containing the chopped dates, dried cranberries and raisins. Mix the hot granola with dried fruits to get the granola sticky and naturally sweet. We prefer our granola plain but you can add at this stage your favorite flavoring ingredients (vanilla extract, lemon zest, orange zest, cinnamon, etc..)
Once cooled, transfer the granola into a clean glass container. Store this crunchy and healthy treat in the fridge for a few weeks and enjoy it as a wholesome breakfast or snack. Serve it with your favorite dairy or plant-based milk, yogurt, or sprinkle it over smoothie bowls for an extra crunch and burst of flavor.
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups rolled oats (120 g)
¼ cup chopped almonds (35 g)
¼ cup chopped walnuts (35 g)
¼ cup pumpkin seeds (35 g)
¼ cup pitted dates (50 g)
¼ cup raisins (35 g)
¼ cup dried cranberries (35 g)
2 tbsp. applesauce (add by small quantities while stirring until the oats get sticky but not wet or saggy)
For the serving example:
½ cup homemade plain yogurt (recipe is available here ????)
