This three layered lasagne is hearty and packed with flavour with creamy white lasagne sauce and a sweet kick from the wholegrain mustard. It’s also a great twist on the classic lasagne recipe with it’s switching mince to ham as it’s main meat.
Plus, it sneaks in a few veggies and greens so it’s perfect for family dinners and fussy little ones. Make this on a Sunday to have your meals sorted for the week or tuck in for an indulgent Friday night meal. This creamy lasagne takes a while but trust us when we say it’s worth it!

MY FAMOUS LASAGNA RECIPE
BEEF LASAGNA
Ingredients for the red sauce:
* 1/4 cup olive oil
* 4 tbsp butter
* 2 tbsp chopped garlic
* 2 cups chopped onions
* 1/2 kg beef minced meat
* 1 cup ketchup
* 1 cup pizza/pasta sauce
* 1 tsp soy sauce
* 1 tsp vinegar
* 1 tsp salt
* 1/2 tbsp black pepper powder
* 1 tsp paprika powder
* 1 tsp garlic powder
* 1/4 tsp white pepper powder
* 1 tsp oregano
* 1 tsp mixed herbs
* 1 tsp crushed chilli flakes
Ingredients for the white sauce:
* 1 tbsp chopped garlic
* 2 tbsp butter
* 2 tbsp flour
* 1 and 1/2 chicken cube
* 1 tsp oregano
* 1 tsp mixed herbs
* 1/4 tsp garlic powder
* 1 cup heavy cream
* 2 cups milk
* 1 cup cheddar cheese
Ingredients for the toppings:
* 1 cup cheddar cheese
* 2 cups mozzarella cheese
* 1 sliced capsicum
* 1 sliced tomato (de-seeded)
* 1/4 cup sliced black olives
* 1 tsp oregano
Lasgana sheets:
* 400 grams or 1 pack of uncooked lasgana sheets
Preheating time: 20 mins
Preheating temperature: 180 degrees centigrade
Baking time: 15 mins with lower rod on and 5-8 mins with upper rod on

This White Chicken Lasagna with Ham and Spinach is the ULTIMATE comfort food! Made with a lighter Alfredo sauce, it’s decadent enough for the holidays and made with healthier ingredients.

INGREDIENTS
Alfredo Sauce
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 cups low sodium chicken broth
2 cups low fat milk
1/4 cup frozen spinach thawed and squeezed dry
Lasagna
12 Catelli Express lasagna noodles
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
2 chicken breasts cooked, chopped or shredded
2 cups chopped cooked ham
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese divided
INSTRUCTIONS:
Alfredo Sauce
Melt butter in a medium pot over medium heat. Add garlic, salt, pepper and Italian seasoning and cook 1 minute. Whisk in flour until completely combined.
Whisk in broth and continue cooking over medium heat until sauce has thickened. Gradually stir in milk, whisking and cooking each time until thickened. Stir in spinach and set aside.
Lasagna
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a 9×13″ baking dish.
Spread a thin layer of sauce in the bottom of the baking dish, then top with 3 lasagna noodles, 1/4 of the sauce, 1/3 of the chicken, 1/3 of the ham and 1/3 cup Mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers twice so that you have 3 layers of 3 lasagna noodles each.
Top with remaining 3 lasagna noodles, remaining 1/4 sauce, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
Cover with a lightly greased piece of foil and bake for 40-45 minutes until noodles are tender (they will absorb the sauce and expand as they cook!).
Remove foil and bake for 10-15 minutes until starting to brown. Let sit for 10 minutes before slicing into 9 pieces and serving.

Ingredients for Meat Sauce:
Chicken Mince - 250 gms
Olive Oil - 2 Tbsp
Garlic - 2 cloves minced
Onion - 1 small finely chopped
Tomato sauce - 1 jar, about 6 cups
Salt - 1 Tsp
Dried basil - 1 Tsp
Dried Oregano - 1 Tsp
Chicken Bouillon - 1
Water - 1 Cup
Ingredients for Béchamel sauce:
Butter - 3 Tbsp
All purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
Milk - 3 Cups
Salt & Pepper - to taste
Parmesan Cheese - 1/2 Cup
Chicken Bouillon - 1
Ingredients for Assembling:
No Boil Lasagna sheets - 12
Shredded Mozarella Cheese - 1 Cup
Shredded Parmesan Cheese - 1/2 Cup
Dried Parsley - 1 Tsp
Method:
1. Heat olive oil on medium heat. Add chopped garlic and onion, sauté well. Add salt.
2. Now add chicken mince, sauté until it turns white.
3. Add basil and oregano, mix well.
4. Add Tomato sauce, water and 1 chicken bouillon.
5. Cover & cook for 15 minutes and the meat sauce is ready. Keep aside.
6. Heat butter in another pan. Add flour and stir well.
7. Now slowly add milk and keep stirring to prevent forming lumps.
8. Add chicken bouillon, salt and pepper to taste.
9. Add parmesan cheese, bring it to a boil. Keep aside.
10. Now brush a baking pan with olive oil.
11. Add a layer of meat sauce, top it with no boil lasagna sheets, béchamel sauce, shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
12. Now add another layer of no boil lasagna sheets, meat sauce, béchamel sauce, shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
13. Sprinkle dried parsley and cover it with a foil.
14. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C or 400°F for 45 minutes.
15. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes.
16. Rest it for 15 minutes before serving.

9-12 lasagna noodles, boiled
CHICKEN SAUCE:
1/2 kg (500 g) chicken mince
800 g tomato puree, (6-7 tomatoes, blend to make puree)
1 medium capsicum, cubed
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
4 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp chili paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp full black pepper powder
1 tsp oregano leaves
2 tbsp oil
WHITE SAUCE:
2 1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup cheddar cheese or mozzarella
1/2 tsp salt and black pepper
2.5 tbsp butter
TOPPING:
1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese or as required
