How To make Beef Stew with Apple Dumplings

beef, stew meat, cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes
1/2
cup
flour
3
each
beef bouillon, cubes, crushed
1/2
teaspoon
pepper
2
cup
onions, sliced
2
each
garlic, cloves, minced
1/2
cup
beef broth
3/4
cup
apple juice
2
tablespoon
vinegar
1
teaspoon
thyme
1
teaspoon
curry
DUMPLINGS:
1
cup
applesauce
2
each
eggs, well beaten
2
teaspoon
parsley, fresh, chopped
2
cup
flour
2
teaspoon
baking powder
1
teaspoon
salt
Directions:
Coat meat with mixture of flour, salt and pepper. Combine meat, onion, garlic, beef broth, apple juice, vinegar, thyme and curry in removable liner. Place liner in base. Cover and cook on auto 7 hours; or high 4 to 5 hours; or low 8 to 10 hours.
Remove cover and place tablespoons of dumpling batter on top of stew. Cover and cook on high for 20 minutes.
To make dumpling batter: blend applesauce with eggs and parsley; add flour, baking powder and salt and beat into egg mixture.

1kg / 2.2lb Lean mince or ground beef
1 Large onion (medium chopped)
½tsp salt
½tsp pepper
½tsp Dried thyme
560mls / 1pt Beef stock
1tsp Vegetable or Olive oil
1tbls Corn flour/starch in 80mls cold water (thickener)
Dumplings
330g / 11½oz Self raising flour
2tsp Baking powder (if you’re using plain or all purpose flour use 4 tsp of baking powder)
175g / 6oz full fat or semi skimmed milk
60g / 2oz of cold Butter
100g / 3½oz Beef or vegetable suet
1 Large egg
70g / 2½oz finely chopped spring onions

This is my Slow Cooker recipe for a very tasty Beef Stew & Dumplings. By the way, if you're wondering where the bacon went, I don't know, I seem to have lost that bit of the film. But they go in just before the tomatoes. To view the ingredient list click SHOW MORE.
300mls Beef Stock
200mls Red Wine
2 Large Carrots
1/2 Small Swede/Turnip
500g Beef
1 Large Onion
2 Bacon Rashers
Mushrooms to your taste
200g Chopped Tomatoes
300g Potatoes
Salt & Pepper
Sprig of Fresh Thyme

Country Apple Dumplings
Recipe ingredients:
3 large apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Water just to top of sliced apples
Cooked until slightly translucent
Dumpling dough
3/4 cup self-rising flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
2 1/2 tablespoons shredded butter
1/3 cup buttermilk or whole milk
Drop by slight teaspoon on top of apples
Cook with lid on, do not lift lid for about 15 minutes
Mix with whisk:
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 heaping tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add to dumplings and cook an additional 5 minutes.
If too thick add a little more milk.
