How To make B B Q Seitan
1 1/4 lb Raw Seitan
- (1 box Seitan Quick Mix) 1/4 c Oil for frying
3 Strips kombu sea vegetable
(2 to 3 strips, :
about 12 inches) 1 1/2 c B-B-Q sauce of choice
Prep time: 1-1/2 to 2 hours (most of time is in cooking) Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry Seitan pieces for a few minutes on each side until lightly browned. Soak kombu until soft, then cut into sixteen pieces. Line bottom of 9-inch baking dish with half the kombu. Place a piece of fried Seitan on each piece of kombu, overlapping if necessary, to make an even layer. Place remaining pieces of kombu on top of each piece of Seitan. Pour B-B-Q sauce on top, then spread with a spoon to cover surfaces. Gently add enough water so that the Seitan pieces are almost floating. Cover and bake at 350 F. for one hour. Add more water if necessary to keep Seitan very moist. This recipe has been developed by Bro. How to make QUICK vegan chicken (15 min seitan)
You can make seitan from start to finish in only 15 minutes. This quick vegan chicken is easy to make and perfect for a fast weeknight meal. I am making this with a sweet and savory sesame sauce, but you could use bbq sauce, buffalo sauce, chili sauce or whatever your favorite flavor is. The dough does not need to be kneaded and comes together in just minutes. It is amazing how great the texture and flavor is of this seitan made so quickly. As my son described this - It's like Panda Express but better! Yes, this vegan sesame chicken recipe really tastes like take out Chinese. It is now my go to way to make quick vegan meat. THIS is how to make vegan chicken - fast. Enjoy!

Ingredients
Seitan:
150 g vital wheat gluten (
30 g all purpose flour
30 g pea protein powder (
1 tsp chicken flavored vegan bouillon powder
1 tsp poultry seasoning - substitute sage if you don't have this
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
a pinch of salt
about 1 cup of warm water
Sesame Sauce:
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 heaping tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Chinese black vinegar or any other kind of vinegar
1 tsp sesame oil
1/4 cup water
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/4 cup corn starch slurry (1 tbsp corn starch in 1/4 cup water)

Vegan BBQ Chicken Wrap | Washed Flour Seitan BBQ
Don't know what to do with your washed flour seitan shredded chicken? Well, this vegan bbq chicken wrap is just what you are looking for. In this video I'll show you how I throw together a sweet tangy tomato based barbeque sauce that is perfect with seitan shreds. I wrap it in a large flour tortilla with some home made coleslaw for the perfect vegan meaty wrap. This BBQ seitan is great for sandwiches or just eating on its own.

BBQ Sauce ingredients
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 can tomato paste. 3 oz
1 pint tomato sauce
4 T rice vinegar
1 T soy sauce
1 T Maggi seasoning
1 T maple syrup
2 T ketchup
1 tsp spicy mustard
1 T onion powder
1 T garlic powder
1 T smoked paprika
1/2 T hot chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Simmer about 30 minutes to reduce by half.
BBQ Seitan
1/2 onion sliced into 2 inch pieces
Shredded seitan from washing 4 cups flour - about 4 servings
1/2 to 1 cup bbq sauce
1 T oil
Heat oil in sauté pan, add onions. Sauté just until softened. Add shredded seitan. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until browned. Add sauce. Cook for a few minute stirring until sauce thickens and coats seitan.
Assemble wrap
Add bbq seitan to wrap. Add coleslaw. Fold sides, roll pulling ingredients in tightly. Enjoy.
