Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Recipe post
Who else loves apple picking? There's nothing better than enjoying fresh apples picked right from the tree. We love picking as many as we can and then using them in recipes like this or even a simple apple cider. Did you know that the apples in the store could be months old? Read more on How fresh are your apples?.
WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT THIS OATMEAL
It's warm, comforting, and super filling. Filled with all the fall flavors and just makes you feel cozy. You can cook this just 10 minutes on the stovetop.
APPLE CINNAMON OATMEAL INGREDIENTS
To make this easy breakfast oatmeal recipe, you will need the following ingredients:
Apples: You can use whatever apples you have on hand. We prefer more of a firm apple, not a softer apple like McIntosh.
Cinnamon: One of our favorite warm spices, you could also add nutmeg, cloves, or even pumpkin spice or apple pie spice.
Water: Water will help cook the apples and then once they're tender you'll use the flavored water to cook the oats.
Rolled Oats: We use gluten-free rolled oats, but traditional rolled oats work just as well if you have no issues. You could also use steel-cut oats if you have more time to cook.
Maple Syrup: This is our preferred sweetener. You could use whatever sweetener you prefer.
Oat Milk: A little splash of homemade oat milk adds a slight creaminess to this oatmeal recipe. Use your favorite plant-based milk to keep this apple cinnamon oatmeal vegan or you can use regular dairy if desired.
