Taste Test 3 Blended Scotch Whisky in a Penicillin Cocktail
The Penicillin is the ideal cocktail for autumn, as the weather gets colder and common illnesses start spreading. Lemon, ginger, and honey are all known as immune system supports, and Scotch, well, Scotch, is great for relieving the pain of a sore throat.
But which blended Scotch whisky is best when you combine all of these ingredients? Today, we're helping the medicine go down with Johnnie Walker Red, Monkey Shoulder, and J&B Rare in a Penicillin.

Bartending Basics with John Barsic| Episode 2 | Bourbon & Whiskey
This 2nd session will cover A Bartending Refresh and Bourbon/Whiskey. We will review some of the most important bartending concepts from the first session and cover an introduction to whiskey, the most common glasses for whiskey, how to make a few common whiskey-based drinks, and how to facilitate a whiskey tasting with friends.
If you want to make any of the drinks that will be reviewed, here's what you will need:
1) Bottle of your favorite whiskey:
rocks glasses (any small, short glass will do), large mixing glass or shaker, ice
2) Manhattans and Rob Roys:
sweet vermouth, maraschino cherries, aromatic bitters (e.g. Angostura bitters)
3) Old Fashioned:
a whole fresh orange, maraschino cherries, sugar cubes or granulated sugar
4) Highballs:
ginger ale or seltzer
5) Whiskey Sours:
lime juice, powdered sugar, fresh lime or lemon wedge, maraschino cherry
(shortcut - use sweet & sour mix instead of lime juice & powdered sugar)
